Welcome to Mackinaw TownshipAbout Our TownshipMackinaw Township is a General Law Township with a population of approximately 576 residents, There are 319 residents within the village and 257 outside the village limits. We are located at the northwestern tip of Cheboygan County along the Straits of Mackinac to the Mackinac Bridge. Town Hall address: Correspondence, tax bills and ballots can be returned, at no charge, to the DROPBOX by the front door. Township News:
Annual Spring Clean-Up DaySponsored by: Mackinaw Township, Village of Mackinaw city and Wawatam Township. Saturday, June 27, 2026 8:00 am to Noon Location: Village Recycling Center (south of the school) Open to residents only of the sponsoring agents. Limit one (1) trailer or pick-up load per resident (please bring proof of residency). Items ACCEPTED: Carpet, wood up to 4’ in length, mattresses, broken furniture and mirrors, most anything not listed below. There will be a separate truck for all metals, appliances and appliances with freon, batteries, aluminum chairs, lawn mowers, etc. Items NOT ACCEPTED: Tires, household and yard waste, motor oil or other liquids, hazardous waste (i.e. paint, thinners, solvents, and chemicals) or any other material banned by State Law.
